Cardiff City may not have played for four weeks but the Bluebirds have certainly not lost their spark as they progressed to the Genero Adran Trophy semi-finals with a 10-0 win over Llandudno.

Phoebie Poole bagged a hat-trick and there were braces for Lily Billingham and captain Siobhan Walsh alongside goals for Danielle Broadhurst, Ffion Price and Danielle Green.

Across the capital, Cardiff Met also swept aside Genero Adran North opposition as they won 6-0 against Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The Archers only led by the one goal at half-time after Robyn Pinder finished from close range early on, before they took control of the game in the second period with a pair of headers from Tija Richardson before Ellie Preece and substitute Kennesha Nanette got on the scoresheet.

It was a poignant day at Park Avenue as Amy Jenkins started and took the captain’s armband for Aberystwyth Town following the passing of her father Kevin ‘Bones’ Jenkins.

Fittingly, she opened the scoring in a 2-0 victory against Genero Adran North leaders Wrexham before Bethan Roberts also found the net. It was a case of déjà vu as Aberystwyth also knocked Wrexham out of the FAW Women’s Cup quarter-finals.

After winning 4-0 at USW Sports Park a week previously, The New Saints played host to Pontypridd United and emerged victorious again.

It was a closer game this time though, with Izzy Redding netting just before half-time and Emily Ridge only making sure of the result in the 83rd minute.
