Reigning Genero Adran Trophy champions Cardiff Met will be hoping to avoid an upset when they host Genero Adran North side Connah’s Quay Nomads in this weekend’s quarter-finals.

The Archers currently sit third in the Genero Adran Premier and eased past Rhyl 1879 with a 5-0 win in the previous round, but the Nomads have already knocked out top flight opposition in this competition this term.

Jordan Parry’s side came from 2-1 down to win 3-2 away at Barry Town United in the round of 16 and have ambitions of promotion as they currently sit two points off top spot in the Genero Adran North.

Just ahead of them in the table are Wrexham, who also travel to a top tier side in the shape of Aberystwyth Town – the team who beat them in the last eight of the FAW Women’s Cup just before Christmas.

The Seasiders are therefore targeting a second semi-final of the season, but Wrexham showed their quality with a 7-1 thrashing of Genero Adran Premier side Abergavenny in the last round when Rosie Hughes scored a double hat-trick.

Llandudno produced the shock of the previous round when goals from India Hassall and Kelsey Davies helped them win 2-1 away Swansea City.

The Genero Adran North side now travel to Genero Adran Premier leaders Cardiff City, who remain unbeaten in all competitions this term. In fact, the Bluebirds’ most recent defeat came in the final of this competition last season.

Finally, the only all-top flight tie sees The New Saints host Pontypridd United after both sides knocked out Genero Adran South opposition in the round of 16.

It was only last weekend that these two teams last met, with Greg Draper’s side producing a sensational performance to win 4-0 at USW Sports Park.
