Abergavenny's Ellis Lunn scored twice but was on the wrong end of a 4-2 scoreline in a six-goal thriller with The New Saints.
The Saints were in a commanding position at half time after strikes from Beth Lewis, Isobel Redding and Danielle Staley put them three goals up at the break.
Lunn replied six minutes into the second half for the Pennies but the away side restored their three-goal lead when Caitlin Chapman netted late on.
There was still time for Lunn to add her second of the afternoon in stoppage time but the Saints had done enough to earn the win and put together back-to-back victories.
Andy Williams' side moved up to fourth in the process following Barry Town United's 3-0 defeat against pace-setters Cardiff City.
Phoebie Poole took her tally for the campaign to four inside the 19th minute and Zoe Atkins got off the mark later in the first half.
Danielle Broadhurst bagged her third goal in four games in the second half to ensure there would be no way back for the hosts, as the Bluebirds chalked up their fourth straight win and maintained their lead at the top.
Elsewhere, Cardiff Met's 2021/22 top scorer Emily Allen got off the mark in the new campaign as the Archers beat Aberystwyth Town 4-0 at Park Avenue.
Allen opened the scoring and two goals within the space of two minutes later in the half from Shannon Evans and Steph Turner put Met in a commanding position at the break.
Allen scored her second of the afternoon in stoppage time as the Archers secured their third successive win to stay second in the table.
While Swansea City also scored three first-half goals through Jess Williams, Katy Hosford and Monet Legall in a convincing 4-0 win over Pontypridd United.
The latter's strike was her first since joining the Swans in the summer, while Ellie Lake added a fourth in the second half.
