A first-half brace from Danielle Green inspired Cardiff City to a 5-0 win over Abergavenny in the Genero Adran Premier.

Green struck in quick succession midway through the first half to put the Bluebirds in a convincing position at the interval at Pen-Y-Pound Stadium.

Danielle Broadhurst then netted her second in two games on the hour mark before captain Siobhan Walsh added a fourth shortly after the restart.

Rhianne Oakley, who moved to the capital from champions Swansea City in the summer, grabbed her first for the club with 16 minutes left on the clock as the Bluebirds put together back-to-back wins.

Cardiff Met bounced back from their opening weekend defeat against Swansea with a 3-0 victory over The New Saints at Cyncoed Campus.

Robyn Pinder netted the opener after eight minutes on her second debut for the Archers, while Ellie Preece was on target in each half to ensure Met moved up to fourth.

Pontypridd United also responded to their opening day loss against Cardiff City by earning a 2-1 win against Aberystwyth Town at Park Avenue.

Liv Francis put the away side ahead in the final stages of the first half and Anais Trinci grabbed their second inside the 65th minute.

Tania Wylde gave the Dragons a late scare when she fired home from the penalty spot with 11 minutes left but James Fishlock's side held out for their first win of the campaign.

Elsewhere, the 2021/22 Genero Adran Premier top scorer Stacey John-Davis' 16th-minute penalty proved decisive as Swansea City earned a 1-0 win over Barry Town United.

It was John-Davis' second goal of the season ensured the champions put together back-to-back wins.
