The New Saints of the Adran Premier showed their quality, securing an impressive 4-0 victory over Connah’s Quay Nomads at Park Hall.
Andy Williams’ side took the lead through Lexie Harrison’s emphatic penalty, before Lucie Platt added a second before the break.
With Caitlin Chapman and Georgia Griffiths both getting on the scoresheet in the second period, the Saints finished 2021 in style.
Wrexham faced a difficult task as they welcomed back-to-back Genero Adran Premier champions Swansea City.
The Swans were rampant from the off, with Chloe Chivers’ goal and Kathryn Carter’s brace putting them in the ascendancy.
There was no let-up from Chris Church’s side, as Laura Davies and Ellie Lake netted, before Carter added her third to secure a resounding 6-0 victory.
An intriguing battle unfolded between Caldicot Town and Barry Town United, with the latter recording a 3-1 win.
Holly Jenkins put the visitors in front, but Caldicot responded admirably, with Lucy McDonough finding the equaliser.
Having been pushed all the way, Sian Rees’ late brace was enough to see Barry through to the next round.
